Bodies, Borders, Porosities I: We, Embodied

Where: outdoors - meeting at Applied Theatre, Franz-Josef-Straße 2
Duration: 60 min, in English

When are we a body? Where does it begin and where does it end? We encounter bodies, borders and porosity. How much pressure can a body sustain, how much its skin? Which bodies meet in the Salzburg, how does our body relate to the city and to the collective ‘we’? Initially, our body was the content of another body. At some point, a sense of the body emerges: a body clad in skin, sensitive, touched and connected.
In this workshop performance, we explore a body, formed together in a state of trouble, alive.

Bodies, Borders, Porosities II: May I stay?

Where: Big Studio Applied Theatre, Franz-Josef-Straße 2
Duration: 60 Min, in English

Since the 1970s, humanity has been sending messages about itself into space: images of bodies, music, greetings, and a map showing the way to Earth. But what happens when the unknown actually arrives and can no longer remain hidden — when it confesses: “I am already among you”? Through testimonies, documents and an imagined first encounter with the mysterious Other, the performance explores the rules that determine who is allowed to be accepted and to stay.

This project is the fifth cooperation between the SOMMERSZENE and the Master's program Applied Theatre – Critical Theatre Practice & Community of the Thomas Bernhard Institute at the Mozarteum University.
