The sculpture terrace at the Museum der Moderne becomes a choreographic venue for the latest creation by Salzburg’s Helene Weinzierl. Rhythmus und Rausch investigates the question of to what extent interpersonal intimacy or the reduction of physical distance creates intimacy in a performative setting or whether it actually increases the separation between the performers and the audience?

Does such a process of enforced proximity prompt flight instincts? Does the anonymity of the urban environment even permit close personal links and networks? The performers create a landscape that is an interactive, participatory puzzle, developing over the course of the performance into structured chaos, an energetic maelstrom, a seemingly never-ending loop of uninterrupted movement full of physical intensity.
