Ann Van den Broekʼs acclaimed work We Solo Men that was originally created in 2009 is returning now, restaged and performed by BODHI PROJECT as part of the SOMMERSZENE festival. We Solo Men deals with the conflict between, on the one hand, the desire to entertain and, on the other, the inability to communicate. The cry for attention becomes a cry of desperation. We Solo Men is an entertaining and, in the end, a lonely sketch. Ann Van den Broek has created a rhythmic composition made up of sounds, words, movement and body language aimed at connecting with the audience.
As a choreographer, Ann Van den Broek has developed a highly distinctive artistic idiom. She draws her inspiration from patterns of human behaviour, emotional states, and impressions that arise from confronting her various living environments.
BODHI PROJECT is an internationally touring company. Led by artistic visionary Susan Quinn, founder and artistic director of SEAD, the company presents a diverse repertoire across Europe and internationally.
