SOMMERSZENE Walking Dance Classes

The Walking Dance Classes hosted by Flavourama will turn the Salzburg city centre into a stage. Dancers from street and club styles such as hip hop, breaking, house dance, waacking and many more will guide members of the public from one SOMMERSZENE venue to the next and offer insights into a selection of performances from this summerʼs festival.
At various points along the way the themes, content and artistic approaches of the productions will be presented in a playful and creative way – and turned into direct experience through communal movement. The audience is invited to join in: a walk through the city, interpersonal exchanges and a festival preview are all combined through dance.
Flavourama is an international street dance festival that has been making street and club culture visible in Salzburg since 2009, filling public spaces with innovative formats. The Walking Dance Classes are curated by its artistic directors Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer.
