CPA 2025 - Out Now!

Program of the Choreographic Platform Austria 2025 online.

With its three-day program, the CPA offers a comprehensive insight into the diversity of contemporary choreographic work in Austria. In addition to the eleven live performances, the audience can also expect eight short portraits of artists and numerous activities from the local dance community.

Angela Glechner, responsible for the platform in Salzburg on behalf of the CPA board, particularly emphasizes the festival's supraregional character: "Platforms are an established format across Europe that provide artists with international visibility. The CPA functions as an important network, strengthening artistic dialogue and opening paths for future collaborations and touring opportunities in Europe."

For the first time, there was an Open Call, which received 175 submissions. The eleven selected productions convinced the external jury with their thematic, stylistic, and aesthetic approaches. Representing the jury, Eike Wittrock presented the program selection:

"Our selection shows how cross-genre and surprisingly diverse productions are created regionally and internationally throughout the country, and what political strength and social urgency arise when the works are presented together. The three days of the CPA are curated like a festival and invite everyone to intense, joyful encounters with dance and performance. Let’s celebrate together: 20 hours of dance and performance, 100 artists on site, 7 venues."

The political officials are also pleased that the platform will continue in Salzburg following its successful relaunch in 2023:

Andreas Babler, Vice-Chancellor of Austria and Federal Minister of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport
"International networking is essential for the further development of the domestic dance and performance scene. The CPA provides the necessary platforms for this – it strengthens the visibility of Austrian art and makes an important contribution to the cultural presence of our country in Europe and beyond."

Stefan Schnöll, Deputy Governor, Federal State of Salzburg
"Contemporary dance and performance have a long tradition in this country, and at the same time, we are experiencing exciting innovations. Significant training institutions with students from around the world, internationally active organizations, a vibrant and growing scene with great potential, as well as a newly established rehearsal house, create a lively artistic diversity. It is therefore a great pleasure and a special concern for me that the CPA is now coming to Salzburg in 2025."

Veronica Kaup-Hasler, Executive City Councillor for Cultural Affairs and Science, City of Vienna
"I am pleased that we were able to reestablish the CPA: such an important platform that highlights the diversity and quality of the Austrian scene and, through its focused presentation format, creates a cultural beacon – with an impact far beyond the country's borders."

Bernhard Auinger, Mayor of the City of Salzburg
"The Choreographic Platform Austria makes a significant contribution to the cultural diversity of our city through the three-day dance event at SZENE Salzburg and other locations in Salzburg. My sincere thanks go to the Choreographic Platform Austria and SZENE Salzburg for making this outstanding event possible."
