The Lungau Big Band is one of the most active and remarkable jazz ensembles in the country, continually thrilling its audience with its diverse programs. The jazz band's wide-ranging repertoire is further enriched by many high-caliber guest artists, most recently including Hubert von Goisern.
With Chanda Rule, the LBB reunites with a vocalist they previously collaborated with during their 40th anniversary concert at the Great Festival Hall. Rooted in gospel and with a voice influenced by jazz, Chanda Rule has been telling stories through music since her childhood days in a choir. Over the years, she has built an international career spanning musical theater, gospel, jazz, soul, and classical music. Highlights include performances with the Sweet Emma Band, Sapphire Dreams with Kirk Lightsey, and Feeling Good: A Tribute to Nina Simone with Donny McCaslin. For the current program, Chanda Rule and the LBB present both original compositions and classics from the Great American Songbook in fresh arrangements.
