The Norwegian composer and author Øyvind Torvund is designing plans for future operas, and it seems highly unrealistic that they will ever be completed. It involves a presentation of numerous fragmentary ideas that defy the laws of physics and acoustics. Soprano Juliet Fraser and pianist Mark Knoop take the stage. They sing and perform the "Plans for Future Operas" while simultaneously facing a variety of projected drawings that Torvund uses to hint at possible visualizations of future operas.
Here, he examines communication phenomena, especially those that are spatially and temporally distorted. How do you communicate when you are not in the same dimension? What kind of friendships emerge and solidify beyond the general and special theories of relativity? Torvund's work is an open field where animals, characters, visual elements, and acoustics can intersect.
