ARCHIPEL LIVE, for nine ensemble islands, viola, voice, and electronics. Commissioned by the œnm, world premiere 2025
The gala concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the œnm will be accompanied by a portrait film of the ensemble, created in collaboration with Salzburg-based filmmakers, offering insight into the fascinating world of New Music. Musically, this concert will be one of the highlights of 2025: Clemens Gadenstätter, an internationally successful composer from Salzburg, has composed an almost hour-long work commissioned by the œnm for the anniversary: ARCHIPEL LIVE, for nine spatially distributed ensemble islands, viola, voice, and electronics, promises to be a truly exceptional event.
In ARCHIPEL LIVE, Clemens Gadenstätter explores specific spatial concepts inspired by the observation of social phenomena: When imagining a modern apartment building, its individual units may appear uniform from the outside. Indeed, people's lives are to some extent uniform as well. And yet, each person perceives themselves as unique.
An artist talk (in German language) will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the concert hall.
The work will also be performed twice at the Wien Modern festival.
