Sommerszene 2023 turned Salzburg into one big stage for thirteen days and impressively demonstrated the diversity of the Performing Arts with international guest performances and new productions. The festival was attended by a total of almost 9,000 visitors, the occupancy rate of the performances was 78 percent.
The brilliant finale was a colourful parade through Salzburg's old town: Marinella Senatore's The School of Narrative Dance (a project in cooperation with the Museum der Moderne Salzburg), with more than 350 participants and 5,000 visitors, presented the outstanding creative potential of the city. "The audience´s response to this year's Sommerszene festival was overwhelming and an important indicator of the high artistic quality of the individual productions," says festival curator Angela Glechner.
