Sommerszene 2020 cancelled!

The next Sommerszene Festival will be from 8 to 19 June 2021

In accordance with the government’s announcement on 6 April, all public events in Austria have been cancelled until the end of June. As a result, this year’s Sommerszene festival, which was planned to take place from 15 to 27 June, cannot take place.

“We very much regret that we will be unable to show both the visiting international works and the productions by Austrian artists in Salzburg this summer. In recent weeks we have been in close contact with the invited artists to explore how individual projects can be presented at a later date or at the 2021 festival,” said Angela Glechner, Artistic Director of SZENE Salzburg.
Furthermore, all the other scheduled events at SZENE Salzburg until the end of June will similarly be unable to take place. Here we are pleased that, in consultation with the respective presenters, we have already been able to reschedule some of these events for dates in Autumn 2020. Detailed information about our programme can be found by clicking on "programme" in the menu.

We are already looking forward to the next Sommerszene, which will take place from 8 to 19 June 2021.
