The Austrian singer-songwriter Anja Plaschg released her critically acclaimed debut album Lovetune for Vacuum as Soap&Skin in 2009, which led to comparisons between Plaschg and famous singer-songwriters such as Cat Power, Nico, Kate Bush, and Björk. In 2011, she made her acting debut in the feature film Stillleben, followed by her second album Narrow in 2012. She then withdrew from the music business for several years before releasing her third album From Gas to Solid/You Are My Friend in mid-2018. In the film Des Teufels Bad, which premiered at the Berlinale in February 2024, she plays the leading role and also contributes the film's music. Her new album Torso will be released in November 2024, and in January 2025, she will return to the big live stages.
