davis freeman/random scream – investment

thursday 23.6., 9 pm, republic

investment is theater, dance, and satire, but not only that; it could also very well send you home a millionaire. director davis freeman leads an outstanding group of performers, including the british actor jerry killick and the american dancer robert hayden, as they grapple with the facts and fantasies surrounding the modern world of finance. this form of contemporary theater plays with reality, communication through media, acting, and choreography. the artists, including  davis freeman himself, explore the serious implications of this “created culture” of finance for individual ethical behavior and political economics live while keeping their performance humorous, lively, and unpredictable; and this helps explain why the show has been such a success with audiences all over europe. art as a part of the economy and as a consumer product are central themes of the work, so it is a logical choice to open sommerszene salzburg’s completely free festival. let the arguments begin!
