silke grabinger is a dancer with an unusual career: she comes from the breakdance scene, performed with cirque du soleil in las vegas, and has worked with various contemporary choreographers and in theaters. now she makes herself-her body, voice, dance and theatrical capabilities – available to the contrasting ideas of an international group of artists. the sommerszene will host five premieres that connect conceptual choreography, distorted pop, poetic observation and the perspective of cabaret. the group is made up of anne juren, a french choreographer living in vienna; oleg soulimenko, a russian performer, choreographer, and conceptual artist; philippe riera, interdisciplinary artist and member of the french collective superamas; hubert lepka, an austrian director and choreographer; and dirk stermann, a german cabaret artist and author. none of these artists knows what the others` pieces are, which makes for a diverse, bright evening of miniatures.
