the first performing new europe – festival of contemporary performance & dance will take place from 12.-15. january 2012 in salzburg and will be presenting mainly artists and projects from the apap network:
szene salzburg is looking for a new director
sommerszene is one of austria’s most important festivals for the contemporary performing arts. szene salzburg is also responsible for the program of republic, which includes 300-400 internally and externally organized events per year and offers a wide range of performances for a variety of different audiences.
first apap-lab in berlin
on the 2nd of september the first lab of the advancing performing arts project took place at the apap-studios at the tanzfabrik berlin. it was the first meeting of the apap-artists, andrea maurer & thomas brandstätter (at), matthieu burner & nabih amaraoui (de, fr), dora budor & maja cule (hr), kaja kolodzierjczky (pl), antoine defoort & halory goerger (be) and many more.
artist in residence in september: dave st. pierre
the canadian choreographer dave st. pierre, often referred to as the “enfant terrible” of contemporary dance, had his break through in 2005 with “bare naked souls”, a production featuring 14 naked dancers at times onstage, at other times in the auditorium. in 2008 „a little tenderness for crying out loud“ was shown in szene salzburg.
