Irena Curik, experimental theatre maker from Croatia, is holding an audition at Tanzfabrik Berlin for her upcoming performance project that will be realised during her March residency at Tanzfabrik Berlin. Performance material will be gathered through open workshops from list, letters and experiences of professional failures that want to detect personal failures.

“this work explores the relationship between dance as creative process and dance as a finished product of that process. conceived as a score, the piece traces how four dancers engage with the movement material. the disclosure of this process is paralleled with the disclosure of each dancer as an individual. the audience is invited into a space where the boundaries between performance and rehearsal and performer and individual are blurred challenging them to unravel the webs of the performative constructs at play.” jelka milic

angela glechner’s five-years contract is starting on the first of june 2012. she will be the new artistic director and manager of szene salzburg. her main tasks will be to make the programme for the international dance and theater festival sommerszene and the organization of the venue republic.


 angela glechner, born in upperaustria, studied  journalism, communication studies and history in vienna. she worked amongst others for tanzquartier vienna and the choreographer philipp gehmacher. most recently she made the programme for the sommerfestival at kampnagel hamburg.

michael stolhofer, former director, continues working for the eu-project apap. he will also work for the impulstanz festival in vienna and for the city of vienna.

director (artistic and general) (full-time)

responsibilities:
1. artistic direction
the artistic director is responsible for curating and developing the program of szene and should have clear intentions for developing the festival’s artistic profile and engaging its international artists, partners, team, visitors, and sponsors.

2. company management
duties encompass the planning, implementation, and supervision in finances and organization of szene salzburg using the available resources. the director is also responsible for coordinating internal and external communication and is involved with the retention and development of financial resources.

qualifications:
applicants should have an affinity for contemporary art, creativity, and the ability to think critically as well as experience in leading a team and a cultural organization. the direction of szene salzburg also requires applicants to reside in salzburg full-time.

the position is available starting in april 2012.

now dave st. pierre once again returns to salzburg to work on his new piece which will round up the trilogy. in an open rehearsal on tue, 13.sep., 8 p.m., republic theatre, he will be providing an insight into his new work.
